Phase 2: Procedure
Composite Veneers
This can be done under local anaesthesia so the procedure is painless and you will not feel a thing.
The teeth we intend to veneer are prepared slightly to achieve a strong bond and desirable aesthetics. We then treat the teeth surfaces with special primers which facilitate bonding with the composite resin.
The resin can then be placed directly onto the teeth surfaces and shaped according to your objectives.
We will then trim and polish the veneers to ensure they are smooth and look exactly as you wish.
Porcelain or Zirconia
This can be done under local anaesthesia so the procedure is painless and you will not feel any pain.
Most times, very little or no preparation is needed. But when it is required, no more than 0.3-0.5mm of enamel is very gently beveled off the teeth we intend to veneer.
We then take an intra-oral scan which is sent to our laboratory. We will then fabricate temporary veneers for you while the permanent veneers are being made.
The entire process takes about 45 to 60 minutes (depending on how many veneers we are doing) and is entirely painless.
Once the permanent veneers are ready, the appointment to issue them typically takes around 30 minutes (depending on the number of veneers we are doing).
We will remove the temporary veneers, clean the tooth surface and cement the permanent veneers on it. We will then ensure that your bite is comfortable and harmonious with opposing teeth. We will also ensure you are able to clean and floss around the veneers.
