Hello, I have a slightly uneven tooth and it bothers me when I smile. I was wondering if it’s possible to have it gently reshaped to look more even. Can a general dentist handle this or do I need a specialist?

Yes, a general dentist can usually perform simple tooth reshaping, also called enameloplasty. This procedure involves gently removing a small amount of enamel to smooth out minor irregularities or uneven edges. However, if the uneveness cannot be resolved by re-shaping, then we would recommend cosmetic bonding, veneers or even crowns to make the teeth symmetrical. All of these procedures are routine and can be carried out at Ashford Dental Centre.
