I was eating when I suddenly felt my dental crown come loose and before I realised it, I had accidentally swallowed it. I’m feeling anxious and worried about whether it could cause internal damage or breathing problems. I’m not sure if I should rush to the hospital or wait for symptoms. I also don’t know what happens next or how quickly I need to see a dentist in Singapore.

In most cases, swallowing a dental crown is not life-threatening, as it usually passes naturally through the digestive system within a few days. However, if you experience difficulty breathing, chest pain, severe stomach pain or persistent coughing, you should seek immediate medical attention. It’s important to visit a dental clinic promptly so your dentist can assess the situation and plan for a replacement crown. At Ashford Dental Centre in Singapore, the team provides calm, professional emergency dental care, ensuring proper evaluation and a comfortable solution to restore your tooth quickly and safely.
