I recently had a root canal treatment on one of my molars and I’m worried about its strength. I’m not sure if the tooth will be strong enough on its own or if it needs further protection. Do I need a crown to prevent it from breaking?

After a root canal, the treated tooth can become brittle and more prone to fractures. Placing a crown over the tooth provides extra strength and protects it from cracking during normal chewing. At Ashford Dental Centre, we usually recommend a crown for molars and back teeth to ensure long-term durability and restore full function.
