Doctor, I’ve been experiencing sharp pain whenever I eat or drink something hot, cold or sweet. It feels like the sensitivity is coming from my tooth roots and it’s been bothering me for a few weeks now. I’m worried it might get worse if not treated.

At Ashford Dental Centre, sensitive tooth roots are usually treated by applying desensitizing agents or fluoride varnishes to the affected areas to strengthen the tooth and reduce pain. In some cases, a bonding material may be applied to cover exposed roots or a gentle cleaning and root protection procedure may be done. Lifestyle advice and using specialized toothpaste for sensitive teeth are also recommended to prevent further discomfort.
