I’ve been noticing that my gums bleed easily when I brush and sometimes they feel swollen and sensitive. I’m worried this might be a sign of gum disease, but I’m also anxious about traditional treatments being painful or invasive. I’ve heard about laser dentistry for gum treatments and I’m wondering if it’s a safe and effective option for me. I want a solution that is comfortable, precise and helps my gums heal faster.

Bleeding, swollen or sensitive gums are often early warning signs of gum disease, such as gingivitis or periodontitis. At Ashford Dental Centre, we emphasise early diagnosis because treating gum issues at this stage is much easier and more effective. If you’re concerned about pain or invasive procedures, laser dentistry offers a modern alternative that is designed to be far more comfortable while still delivering excellent clinical results.

Laser dentistry is both safe and effective for many types of gum treatments when performed by trained professionals. It uses highly focused light energy to remove infected tissue, reduce bacteria and promote healing—all with exceptional precision. Compared to traditional methods, laser treatment typically involves less bleeding, minimal discomfort and faster recovery, making it especially appealing for patients who feel anxious about dental procedures.

That said, the right treatment depends on the severity of your gum condition. At Ashford Dental Centre, we provide personalised assessments to determine whether laser therapy or another periodontal treatment is most suitable for you. With the right care, gum disease can be controlled—and in early stages, even reversed—helping you maintain healthier gums and a more confident smile.
