My child was playing during recess at school when he accidentally fell and chipped his tooth. I feel worried because I’m not sure if it’s serious or if it will affect his permanent teeth. There was a little bleeding and he says it feels sensitive when drinking water. I don’t know whether I should wait or bring him to a dentist immediately.

If your child chips a tooth, stay calm and rinse their mouth gently with clean water. If there is bleeding, apply light pressure with gauze and if you can find the broken fragment, keep it in milk or saline. Even if the chip looks small, it’s important to visit a dentist promptly to check for hidden cracks or nerve damage. At Ashford Dental Centre, our experienced team provides gentle, child-friendly emergency dental care in Singapore, ensuring your child feels safe, comfortable and well cared for during treatment.
