Doctor, I’ve been feeling pain and pressure at the back of my jaw and sometimes my gums swell around my wisdom tooth. I also notice it’s partially visible and sometimes it hurts when I bite. I’m worried it might be impacted and could cause more problems if left untreated.

At Ashford Dental Centre, we can examine your wisdom teeth and take X-rays to see if they are impacted, meaning they are trapped under the gum or bone. Symptoms like pain, swelling, redness or difficulty opening your mouth often indicate impaction. Early evaluation helps prevent infections, misalignment or damage to nearby teeth, and we can guide you on the best treatment options.
