I recently noticed a small lump inside my mouth and I’m worried it might be a cyst. I’m wondering if a general dentist can safely remove small oral cysts, or if I need to see a specialist. I want to make sure the procedure is safe and won’t cause complications.

At Ashford Dental Centre, general dentists can often evaluate and remove small oral cysts, especially if they are uncomplicated and superficial. They use safe, sterile techniques to minimize discomfort and reduce the risk of infection. However, if the cyst is large, deep or in a sensitive area, you may be referred to an oral surgeon for specialized care.
